Our Story

Tarpon Cellars
celebrates
people and place +
wine and farmers

We believe the craft
of wine, art and music is an
ever-evolving practice in
care, attention, and intention

Whether it’s in the vineyard, on a canvas, or onstage, there’s always something to learn. The conditions, constantly changing. Every wine. Every song. Every work of art is a reflection of a particular place and moment in time. An insight into the skills, style, and spirit of the maker — and also, a story of what it takes to cultivate something into being.

As winemakers, when we taste a new vintage, we delight both our senses and imaginations.

We are, at once, both grounded and transported — by all that we know to be true about the place, seasons, and character of the wine — and all that feels mysterious and magical. That sense of feeling grounded and transported is what art, music, and community also so generously give.
They root and connect us to the past and the process. They inspire and move us in the present moment. They invite us to feel and envision all that’s possible.

Dani Young National Sales Manager

Growing up in a multicultural household, wine always played a central role in social gatherings. From a young age, Dani was always fascinated by everything from the rich history and culture each bottle seemed to represent, and the way that wine was able to bring people together. The stories behind each bottle captivated her, and soon her fascination and  love for wine turned into a passion.

She graduated from College of Charleston in 2012, and has called Charleston home ever since.  With it’s vibrant food and beverage scene, Charleston served as a perfect breeding ground for her budding passion.

After years in various sales roles, she made the pivotal decision to unite her passion for wine with her sales skills, a choice she has not regretted. This decision marked the beginning of an exciting and fulfilling journey that has allowed her to share her love for wine and its stories with others.

After spending a few years on the buying side, she started working with Curated Selections distribution company initially as a sales representative, quickly moving into a Sales Manager role in 2020 and worked closely with the Tarpon Cellars wines. As she got to know Jeremy and the Tarpon Cellars brand, she fell in love with their mission: That wine is meant to connect people; to a place, a time, but most importantly, to each other.  After working with the wines for a couple of years on the distribution side, she gladly accepted Jeremy’s offer to join the team as National Sales Manager in August of 2023.

Meet the Artist

Charlie hanavich

It was love at first sight of Picasso’s “Girl Before a Mirror” in New York City’s Museum of Modern Art for Atlanta-based and self-taught artist Charlie Hanavich. “From there, I purchased a large canvas and started painting. I was officially hooked,“ says Hanavich, whose art commands wall space internationally, from private homes to commercial buildings and now a wine label, Tarpon Cellars. Fueled by his interactions and experiences, the painter’s portfolio spans from iconic portraits to wildlife scenes expressing Hanavich’s passions such as music, fashion, and catching tarpon on fly.
